Silo series presents a line of furniture designed for the Portuguese Language Museum.

The museum, due to the different programmatic units, requires a multifaceted design of the chair. In this way, variations of the same chair were designed – with and without arms and a lounge version – allowing its use throughout the building.

The chair results from a search for harmony between comfort and elegance. It is made of just one material: hard maple wood that provides a natural wood finish and a pleasant feeling of comfort.

The combination of robustness and a fresh and vital design allows the use of this chair in a huge range of environments – the roomy seat and the specific location of the back concede the use not only as an office/dining chair but as a lounge chair too.

The search for a balanced relationship between the various elements that make up the chair – seat, back, arms – required constant control of the dimensions and the formal relationship between them.
