The CHEFT Bookshelf designed by AA (Architectural Association, London, U.K) graduate, Maryam Pousti, founder of Studio Pousti, has been inspired by the Persian architectural patterns seen in domes of traditional houses. The beauty of these patterns lies in the fact that they serve both as geometrical structures and ornaments. The objects in this collection are seen as flexible yet rigid symmetrical patterns that are functional as well as decorative.

The object is constructed from sheet materials which makes it possible for alternatives to be created through minor alterations in the way the elements intersect. No nails, glue or screws are needed to assemble the objects.

The bookshelf is made of twelve interlocking elements ,the grooves of the bookshelf, interlock to create a self supporting structure that stands on its own legs without the need to attach to walls, therefore ,it can also be used as a multifunctional room partition, outdoors and indoors at home or office environments. Minimal design, fast assembly, use of only one material and compact packaging makes these objects highly versatile, intrinsically mobile and easily manufactured in small and large scales.
